Avangrid built and operates 14 onshore wind projects across the eastern part of the United States with a combined capacity of 1.2 GW. The Company generates energy from facilities in Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. As one of the nation’s leading wind energy generators, Avangrid’s projects in this region represent several notable achievements. For example, Avangrid’s Lempster project was the first commercial scale wind farm in New Hampshire, Blue Creek was the first utility-scale project in Ohio, and Deerfield was the first wind farm to be located on U.S. Forest Service land. A global sustainability leader, Avangrid built the Casselman wind project in Pennsylvania on land reclaimed for a former coal mining site. Meanwhile, Amazon Wind Farm US East, which ws built by Avangrid, is the only operating commercial-scale wind facility in North Carolina and the largest in the Southeastern U.S.
