Avangrid built and operates a large portfolio of onshore wind and solar projects throughout the central United States. Across Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, and South Dakota, Avangrid operates 26 clean energy projects (25 wind, 1 solar) with a combined capacity of 2.7 GW. The region, famous for its winds, includes some of Avangrid’s oldest and newest wind energy projects. States like Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota represent some of largest states in Avangrid’s onshore wind portfolio by capacity.

Avangrid, a leading sustainable energy company, was a pioneer in the wind industry across the central U.S. For example, Streator Cayuga Ridge, a 300 MW project in Illinois, was the largest renewable energy project in the state when construction was complete 2010. Similarly, Farmers City, with a capacity of 146 MW, became the largest wind farm in Missouri when construction was completed. Avangrid’s projects serve utility and commercial & industrial customers across the region, supporting their clean energy goals.
