CALGARY, Alberta, Canada – PacifiCorp Energy Canada Ltd., part of the ScottishPower (NYSE: SPI, LSE: SPW) group of companies, has changed its name to PPM Energy Canada Ltd., effective at close of business on July 15, 2005, to more closely resemble the name of ScottishPower’s US competitive business -- PPM Energy, Inc. There is no change in company management or personnel and all contractual obligations, credit, and all other underlying support continues without interruption.
PPM Energy Canada trades physical and financial gas throughout Canada and to various markets in the United States. ENSTOR, a division of PPM Energy Canada, is the operator and majority owner of the Alberta Hub Gas Storage Facility, strategically located in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
“We are still the same people continuing to build on our reputation of providing superior products and services in our gas trading and storage businesses – just with a new name,” said Mark Tumbach, president of PPM Energy Canada Ltd..
PPM Energy Inc. is ScottishPower’s competitive energy business in the United States. PacifiCorp is ScottishPower’s US regulated business. On May 24, 2005, ScottishPower announced plans to sell the US regulated utilities of PacifiCorp to MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company in the coming year
