Learning & Development

We believe that everyone has something to offer.
So, we enable the personal and professional growth of our employees by providing exciting and relevant opportunities to innovate, learn, and achieve.
We also believe that people learn in a variety of different ways. The “70/20/10 Model of Learning” allows for personalized, individualized skill development and career growth by acknowledging that:
- 70% of learning takes place on the job (experience).
- 20% of learning comes from other people (relationships).
- 10% of learning comes from a formal training situation (education).
At Avangrid, we offer a wide variety of learning opportunities to employees – from critical safety and technical training progressions, to leadership and culture discussions, to participation in social and community networks, to language learning, to self-directed online courses available anytime, anywhere. Our 6 month synchronous onboarding leadership development program has been curated to provide insightful, thoughtful conversation on what it means to be a leader, provides the opportunity to build relationships with other areas of the organization and discusses the cornerstone principles of how to be a successful leader. We then continue the development of our leaders to programs aligned with the level of leadership role they hold at Avangrid. These robust programs offer leaders the opportunities for a new sense of focus and direction with challenging scenarios while also grounding them in basic leadership principles.
Our vibrant Mentoring Program empowers employees to build meaningful relationships and share knowledge across all levels and areas of our business.
And as a member of the Iberdrola Group, our learning opportunities feature global and international programs and communities as well – from regularly working in diverse, multicultural teams to participation in formal Global School of Leadership programs.
We also offer eligible employees programs such as Student Loan Repayment, Tuition Reimbursement, and company-sponsored avenues to maintain necessary professional certifications and secure continuing education credits – learn more about what we offer employees here.
We can’t wait to see how we can help you bring your best to our team.
Let’s grow together.
